RIO has been dedicated for the last 60 years to serving persons of all ages with physical disabilities by providing programs and services that promote optimal skills for physical, social, daily living, education, recreation and vocational development in order to maximize functioning at home, school, on the job or in the community. Services are provided throughout Orange County at three sites in Fullerton, Orange and San Clemente.

The Day Care Services for Adults is a center based program providing social and health services to adults (18 years of age and older) who need supervised care in a safe place outside the home during the day while affording families respite from the demanding responsibilities of caregiving.

Each center differs slightly in terms of features, however, the general services offered are: stimulating social activities, transportation (door-to-door), nutritional meals/snacks, personal care (toileting, feeding, activities of daily living) and therapeutic activities (physical, occupational, speech, social services) by qualified staff. RIO – Orange is the only ADHC to offer a aquatic therapy in an indoor pool heated year-round. It is also the only ADHC in Orange County to offer a separate program for young adults (18 years of age and older) to head injured adults. A community stroke survivor support group is offered every Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM.
